The international web 2.0 /social media blogging space has for a while been lowly contested arena, with TechCrunch as the no1 choice for visitors, until now that is.
An article, posted by the Inquisitr, a couple of months ago had Mashable as the favourite to dethrone TechCrunch and become the new “King of Web 2.0”, and over the past while it has remained a battle for web 2.0 supremacy.
Mashable has been able to increase their unique visitors and page views with applaudable consistency, with TC seeing a lot more flux over the months when it comes to their stats.
It is difficult to differentiate the the two on specific points as both are leverage on their social media knowledge. Mashable has more of an impact on Twitter, where their tweets far exceed that of TC as well as their followers are in the majority. The two have a following / follower ratio is comparable which makes the Twitter battle interesting.
Both provide solid content and are respected in their field. All we can do is sit back and wait to see what the next couple of months will deliver.
