Intermediate/Advanced Web Designer (with animation skills)

An internationally focused web and mobile software company with offices in London and Cape Town; are looking for experienced designers with a can-do attitude to join their operation in Gardens, Cape Town.

In order to be considered you need to meet the following minimum requirements:

1. At least 3+ years experience doing leading web and multimedia design in a concept driven brand-building environment!
2. A portfolio showing experience working with ‘big’ brands
3. Responsible for designs in line with clients’ brand strategy across everything interactive: web, banners, pop-ups, landing pages, micro sites, email campaigns, etc.
4. An original thinker with a keen eye for current design trends and proven experience to understand client briefs and translate them into workable solutions
5. Expert application skills with two or more of the following design and animation packages: Photoshop, Fireworks, Freehand, Illustrator Flash, 3D design packages, etc.
6. Work within the confines of the brief and ensure timeous delivery.
7. Draw and animate various interfaces, objects, characters, etc. within the project, program or script
8. Revising and modifying artwork as required
9. Good understanding of XHTML and CSS
10. An appreciation of web browser compatibility and related issues
11. Requesting and sourcing appropriate assets for yourself
12. Excellent understanding of graphic design principles and ability to adhere to complex design specifications during implementation
13. Strong attention to detail
14. Ability to work remotely with project managers and clients using various Internet based audio and video conferencing facilities.

In addition to these, the following are also desired:

• A fine art or design related degree / diploma
• Exposure to other web technologies like ASP.NET (C#), JAVA, PHP, PERL, MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, CGI, IIS and Apache will be an advantage.
